A message from Jarred--"My First Christmas in Heaven" (author unknown). I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below with tiny lights like Heaven's stairs, reflecting on the snow. The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear for I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year. I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear but the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here. I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring, for it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing. I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart. But I am not so far away, we really aren't apart. So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear. And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year. I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above, I sent you each a memory of my undying love. After all love is a gift more precious than pure gold. It was always most important in the storied Jesus told. Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do. For I can't count the blessing or love he has for each of you. So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear. Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

And you know what, all your friends are so proud of you now, you fought every inch of the way and you didnt give up when so many others would have! To Jarreds family- You guys are in my families prayers. Stay strong in Christ!!! love you always, Jacquelyn

Well buddy i was just thinking about you and just thought that i would write on here and express my thoughts. You were an inspriation to us all Jarred i mena Brad Bingham worded it the best " Some people think that courage is running out on a football field and playing against a team that is bigger stronger and faster than you are, but to me i think Courage is seeing a person walking down the hall that doesnt have to be there using the wall or the help of a friend to keep standing strait" Jarred we all felt this way about you i mena man i know i would not have ahd the courage to go to school but that is what was so special about you is you did not care what people thought you went to school and loved going(I think so anyway hahaha. Now when i am playing baseball and i am like dang i have a head ache i want to go home i am not cause i know for a fact that you would ahve stayed there and just gone harder. Thank you for being such a great inspriation towards my life I LOVE YOU BUDDDY and i will see you when i get there. NIC DION

Jarred- I miss you tons! But I'm glad that you are no longer suffering and you don't have to fight anymore! I look up to you still, because you had so much determination and strong will! You fought until the end and you never gave up. You showed us what a true hero is made of! I can tell that you are watching over us everyday too. Thanx! To the Junior class--I just want to say thanks for pulling together during this difficult time. Everyone was there for everyone and that means a lot. It showed that we can look past everything else and be there for one another, no matter what! I hope this bond that we have now stays like it is because we all have this one thing in common. To the Hayes- Even though you had our support, thank you for giving your support to us also. It was nice to see you all smiling and able to have a good time after all of this. You helped me, and you probably didn't realize it! Thank you so much! I love you Jarred!

Jarred- Hey buddy! So what's heaven like? I bet words can't express whats going on up there! It's a pretty big responsibility looking over all of us, huh! I am sitting here writing an article for the "Miller Monthly," and my mind keeps on drifting to you. Things just won't be the same. You certainly had your touch both on the off the court. Some many people think of you all the time and why this had to happen to someone as amazing as you. But that is a question that can really never be answered. God's timing is never really understood, yet we all have to accept it. I can't wait until I see you again. I will never forget you! Always watch over your family for me, when I can't be there for them. I love you and see you when I get there.

Jarred....I think about you all the time..all the memories we had, from whenever I always used to beat you at basketball and all the guys made fun of you, and you always made up some excuse like "well i wasnt trying!" or how about in 8th grade when your voice squeaked and me and linsy davis made a sign for you locker that said "SQEAKY!" you didnt talk to us the rest of the day. or how about Altus? Need i say more?? You meant the world to me jarred, and i'm blessed to have spent these moments with you. i saw you all the time at school, but i never really knew what to say. but somehow you and me have always had this way of communicating without having to say anything at all. when basketball season comes i will be shootin the 3's for ya...each time i make one you wont have an excuse like always! =) i miss ya buddy, and i'll see you when i get there, you better be working on your game. i love you.

You we're a great guy and you touched my life in a way that means so much to me. It always brightened up my day just to see that awesome smile on your face! Thank you for so many great memories and making everyone realize just how important the people in our lives are to us. And to your family-I know where Jarred got his courage from and it helped him so much to have you behind him every step he took. You all are awesome and I love you all! Jarred was a wonderful grandson,so gentle and kind. We loved him dearly and he will be forever in our thoughts and hearts. He touched many hearts with his faith, courage, and determination. When I drive by a billboard everyday, which reads That Thing About "Love Thy Neighbor" I Meant It. God, I think of the Yukon Community, and realize that they know what God meant. We thank all of you that were there for Jarred, Jack, Shari, Justin and Jordan during their time of need. We will be forever grateful. God Bless all of you.

Jarred you were a very special young man. Your life here was brief, but you served a very special purpose. You were a man of courage, determination, compassion. You touched so many lives while you were here leaving a lasting impression on all you came in contact with. I'm so proud of the person you became. You had so many wonderful qualities that we don't always notice until someone is gone. I want to thank you for touching so many, because now I see a little piece of you in each of them. I miss seeing you, talking to you and spending time with you, but rest assured that you will always be in my heart. The day will come when we will be together again and I know you will be waiting there for me to guide me home. I love you, Mom

it goes. I'd like to start by thanking all of Jarred's friends out there in Oklahoma. I was lucky enough to marry into the Hayes family over fourteen years ago and I think I can speak for them all when I say that Jarred and his family are truely blessed of God to have friends like you all. Every person on this earth should be as lucky to have just one friend as good as you all are out there. God bless you all! It is amazing how little things that happen during your day make you stop and remember a lost loved one. Today I was watching the movie "Remember the Titans" and then I thought about Jarred for a long time. It is important to tell you at this point that when those moments happen to you all, and they will happen alot for awhile, that you need to think of happy times with Jarred. Don't think of the last few moments or days or even weeks when this lowsy earth was taking him away from us. Think of times when he was at his best. Think of times when you did something special with him or someplace you went together or even a time when you just held his hand or gave him a hug. I lost my Father a short time back and I'm telling you this from experience, think of the good times because the bad memories will eat you alive. They messed me up for months! Until I remembered to go to GOD for help and not to try to deal with it myself, I was just a mess. Please, talk to God everyday and ask for his guidance and also talk to others about it. Talking about it will help!No person knows why God lets these things happen, but perhaps it is to pull us all together. I don't know, no one does, but I pray that it will happen here with this family and their friends. I am no preacher or counselor, but if anyone wants to talk or email me about what's happened, please don't hesitate to call or write or just talk to your Pastor. God bless you all. Thanks for treating us all so wonderfully while we were out there and please try to picture Jarred and my Father, in Heaven, shooting baskets with our Lord Jesus Christ and praying for us to be happy for them that their journey has taken them home to a much better place than this old nasty earth and they can hardly wait to see us again. Oh what a day that will be! I can't wait! GOD bless you all again and pray everyday!!

I want to thank all who contibuted and supported us in the last six months during Jarred's illness. This includes family, close friends, the Yukon schools and community, Seagate and all of the others who have contributed in some way. Your help was unbelievable during this difficult time-it makes a person realize just how lucky you are to have friends such as each you. Although time will heal most issues, we couldn’t have made it without you, and will be forever indebted to all. Although Jarred is no longer with us physically, he is still in our hearts and on our minds. We will never know why he was taken from us at such an early age just as he was starting into life. We must trust that there is a reason that we all will someday understand. Thanks again- God bless each of you. Jack

Jarred, I miss you so much. There’s not a minute each day that I don’t think of you. There are still so many reminders and memories as seen through your brothers, family, friends, and the others that I see continually. It is so hard to know that so many things were left undone, unsaid and unrealized. I miss seeing the red truck coming down the street, number 25 shooting the three’s and the smile with kind words you had for all. I do know that you are in a better place looking over us and no longer suffering. I will never let the memories fade-you are forever on my mind. I can't wait to see you again son, so I can show my love and be the father that I wasn’t. Love forever,Dad.

Words cannot begin to express the graditude and love in my heart for each and every friend Jarred had. Your continued support to this family has been a real blessing. You have all continued to care for Justin and Jordan. Your support a Justin's last football game was incredible, it meant so much to him that each of you were there for him when his brother could not be. I love each and everyone of you. Sometimes people judge other people by their friends, if I were to wonder what kind of person Jarred was outside of home, judging by all of you he was a great young man, because all of you are truly amazing young people. Thank you, Shari

Dear Hayes Family, this day must be so hard for you. Jarred was truly loved by so many people. The last time I saw him he told me that even though he could no longer play basketball with the Millers, he was still going to be involved in whatever way he could. He was so brave, I know you are all very proud of him. This year will be so special for the bb team because they can dedicate the season to Jarred. Hopefully, they will follow his example and not give up, know matter what. We will all miss him. You are in our prayers as always! God bless you all. Love, Sunny P.S. Hey Jarred, Did I read that right, you're back at school? Good for you!! And going to the Football game tomorrow night, that should be a blast for you and your friends. Who would want to miss a YUKON VS mustang game!!! I know if Eric were here, he'd be there too. I don't think you ever outgrow that rivalry. Eric's away at college in Coffeyville, Ks. He's coming home this weekend, but not until Sunday. Seems as though the baseball team works the college football games on Sat. nite.....Eric isn't too thrilled about it either since it would have been a long weekend at home. I hope you continue to feel better and are able to do some of the things you enjoy. We're still praying for you and of course still think of you often. Hey Jarred....Sounds like a great trip to the Islands. You have certainly gone about getting a vacation in a difficult way. I don't know if you remember me but I work with your Dad and my daughter is Stephanie Davis. You and Stephanie go to school together. We were at school last week getting her schedule straightened out and some of the kids were talking about how anxious they are for you to get better so you can get back to school. They said something about it wasn't fair that you were extending your summer vacation but they would get even with you when you are back at school. I know this is an extremely difficult time for you and your family and I wish we could understand why you have to go through it. All I know is that you have to have faith and realize that you will be stronger in the long run. So, hang in there and don't give up. You will be back better then ever before you know it. Good luck and we will see you around YHS soon!!!

Hi Jarred, I'm so glad you got to go on your trip. Did your parents get to go with you? Tell them I said hello. I haven't seen either one of them in a while. We sent Eric to Europe at the beginning of the summer as a graduation gift. A whole group of seniors went, you might have seen their picture and article about it in the Yukon Regret, (I mean Review). Eric brought back a ton of pictures, as I'm sure you did too. We had one of your basketball teammates visiting our church last Sunday, and he asked the congregation to pray for you. Have you ever thought about sending yourself a note on this site? Just a thought.....that way we could all hear a word from you.... You take care of yourself...I pray that you're getting stronger every day. Your family is also in my prayers. Think about sending that note to yourself. Thinking of you always, Brenda Jester

It is not burdensome for me to pray for you. 1 Chronicles 28:20 says “Be strong and of good courage, . . . fear not, nor be dismayed; for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; He will not fail thee nor forsake thee.” Keep looking to Him for strength for each day. Dear Jarred, I wondered what I would say to you, and prayed about it and this is what came to me: "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen" -Hebrews 11:1. Basically what this means is this: Faith is an act based on who God is. Action based on the knowledge that with man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible. So take it a day at a time knowing the God of possibility is able to do above and beyond all we could ask or think (Don't forget to ask). Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, Jarred. We are praying for your complete recovery.

Hey Jarred, how are things going today? I just wanted to write and tell you we all have an angel in our pocket so to speak. I am a survior of an acident when I was 19. I had 5% chance to live, had a massive blood clot on the left side of my head. Doctors agreed someone was watching over me, as I believe you have some one watching over you. Don't ever look at the negative side of what is going on, always try your best even when your down to see the positive side. Keep your faith, spirits high and keep a smile on your face. I believe we all have an angel. Jarred, I'm a walking talking miracle. I've been there. If you need someone to talk to about how you are doing on the inside, write me an E-mail, and I will respond. And nobody else will ease drop and see what we are saying. Tell your Dad and family I said hi!. Your Dad use to be my Boss, a pretty good one, too. I need to get to work, I'll talk at you later.

Hi Jarred! Your Aunt Jo shared your get-well site with me. Pretty neat! I see that Mandi is mouthing off to you quite a bit - always the big talker, isn't she? Jo and Julie and I play summer volleyball together on a team called the Bodacious Babes - you'll have to ask them about it sometime! We smoke Mandi and her lame team every time... We also do some official stuff together like lots of softball coaching and concessions - Mandi was on one of our very first teams and part of quite an Upland softball dynasty. I want to let you know that many, many people are praying for you, your family, and the doctors and nurses helping to take care of you. This must be very difficult and frustrating, but I believe the Lord has a purpose even when it is beyond our understanding. It is our job to have enough faith to trust in Him - a big task, sometimes even an overwhelming one and one we don't want. Gather strength from your family and friends and the knowledge that thousands of people all over the country are lifting you up in prayer. We all wish for your healing! Best wishes - Sandi and Dallas Duggan & family

Hope Julynn, Austin and I get to see you this summer. You will have to keep us up to date on when you will be there. Maybe you can come out to the beach in North Carolina to visit this summer. We could do all kinds of fun stuff there. We think about you everyday....glad to hear you are beginning to feel better. Bet it will be good to go home soon. Keep your chin up and don't let your girlfriend get jealous over all those nurses!!!!

Hey Jarred, many of your parents old classmates attend this church, and we wanted you to know that you and your family are on our prayer lists. God is listening to the prayers of your friends and family as they lift you up to Him. Please remember that when things get tough, and the battle seems long, Jesus is there for you to talk to. He loves you and He understands whatever you need to talk to him about. We all send our love and spiritual support !!!!!!

We sure have been thinking about you here. Just like everyone else it looks like. It's great to see how many people are pulling for you. You are not alone in this. I know it's hard to make it through some of the treatments you are doing. Take it one day at a time....one minute at a time if you have to. Let your family and friends support you through this. We are here for you!!!! Please let us know if there if anything we can do for you. (Doug is your Dad's cousin)

Hey Jarred, Can't wait for you to see these pictures. I have hair all over the house. There were at least 13 boys who had their heads shaved and they can't even wear ball caps. Rick, Jim and Jerry even shaved theirs down to nothing. (Well I know that wasn't much for Jerry.) Hope your feeling better and can't wait to see you.... Rick's gone to develop the pictures now. I'll get you copies and you can see the cam-recording of the event. Love, Karri

Jarred...Over a decade ago when I started working for your dad at Seagate, I discovered that we were both native born Hoosiers from that grand state of Indiana. Your handsone picture on this web page reminds me of the stories that your dad shared about your growth from childhood into adolescence. Although we have never met, I feel that I know you through his eyes. Life presents lessons to each of us. It is not what happens to us...it is our attitude about these circumstances that is of the utmost importance. Keep your thoughts positive while focusing on a mental picture of desired healthiness. Negativism is the enemy to avoid. I feel that with your strength and youth, you will battle and defeat this difficult lesson while emerging triumphantly as a model with a courageous purpose. Prayers continue daily for your complete recovery. Always remember that God cares about you and your family. Mary Jane.

Jarred - I don't know how that thing got into that hard head of yours, but I do know how it is going to get out. The doctors are doing their jobs and your friends and family are all praying for you. Now you just say your prayers and keep the faith. Call if you get bored and I will see you next time you are in town. I Love You Man! Ted

Hi Jarrad, Known your Uncle Bryan for a while now. Work in the same outfit together.Sorta. It's not my fault. Just kinda worked out that way. Anyway, I understand a little about your illness. I believe that you will overcome this thing. Why? because You da man!!! Your doctors know what they're doing.Between their expertise,THE ALMIGHTY GOD,and Jarrad's will, this illness is an unwelcome intruder. The Father is going to do his part and the doctors too. You gotta do yours hoss!!It might be rough ,but hang tough guy! be checkin' on ya. Gary

Jarred, I work with your Dad here at Seagate. I wanted you to know that many of your father's proudest moments have come from the many achievements you have already accomplished in life. Through his many stories I have had an opportunity to learn what a fine man you are. I want you to know that my family is praying for your complete recovery. Jarred, as you have been and are a champion in basketball, bring forth that same determination in this current game. Triumphing over sickness, and in it, triumphing over adverse circumstances and in them. Reaching a height where you can look down and over the way you have come and then sing your song of triumph. As you are an apple in your father's eye, know that you are an apple in God's eye.

Just wanted to add my wishes for a speedy recovery. Your Dad and I have known each other for a very long time and I just want you to know that everybody here at Seagate is keeping you in our hearts and prayers. Also, while I have the chance, I never caused you guys to lose any basketball games. Referee's would never admit to it even if your Dad thinks it happened.

Hi, Jarred. I am your dad's assistant, now that he has moved back to Bldg 1. I'm also Sarah Quinn's aunt. I saw the picture of you and her (she keeps it close to her in her room!). You ARE a handsome young man. You are in my thoughts and prayers, as I know you are in Sarah's and all you friends and family. God's best to you.
